how very true, Mr. Eddy. (by the way, i'm a little star struck that you're reading *my* blog right now) I was fresh out of the box and thought I was invincible. Now, I think about my friends and family at the start of every shift and say, "Well, Nat, you gotta make it home to them tomorrow morning." That always keeps me level headed... thanks for reading!!

Great story! Thank you for sharing your experiences. I had a similar call with a pcp patient that broke out his restraints. Looking back, I know I could have easily avoided the situation had I just asked for some help before transporting.

What I got out of the experience was a valuable lesson learned. My health and feeding my family will always comes first.

Oh the joys of EMS!!

Kudos to you for taking it like a champ and maintaining your composure, I only hope I would have done the same. I'll have a simular story up in a day or so about a call I ran the other morning with my wife and we got or butts handed to us by a functionally MR pt...I didn't do so well.

Just curious though; can you guys use Haldol in the field down there? Sounds like 5-10 IM may have quieted him down a little.
