Well, I seem to blog for a few days straight and then I’m on hiatus again.
We podcast for a few days, then we’re on hiatus again.
I work a few shifts in a row, I’m on hiatus again.
It seems like I’m always somewhere, doesn’t it? Well, I assure you, I am here. Remember my post on The In Between? Well, I’m probably off living life. But lately, I’ve been dealing with a great deal of personal and health issues yet again. Not to worry friends, I am well. But, you can know what I’m working on whenever I’m not here in the Blogosphere or annoying people on Twitter.
GenMed
Well, we aren’t a weekly podcast yet. We have 3 full time students on the show and I am a full time employee (on hiatus from school this semester. I need to save money) so we record when we can. It’s been a while since we’ve had an episode hasn’t it? Well, in the next few weeks, you’re going to hear A LOT from us on GenMed Show. We’re currently recording our “GenMed: On the road” series, where we talk about our travels representing our podcast and our generation. I hope to record my episode on Chronicles of EMS travel this week- with our super cool guest Mr. Jeremiah Bush (@Jeramedic on Twitter). We’re going to talk about our experiences during the live premiere, the people we networked with, our thoughts on the impact of our generation, and various other topics related to The Chronicles of EMS. Also, Scott is going to NCEMSF this next week and will have coverage from this show in Baltimore. NCEMSF is something that Scott has been passionate and involved in for quite some time now, so we can’t wait to learn more about it and get involved with it as well! Jared and Meris are going to EMS Today (I am insanely jealous!) in Baltimore the weekend after Scott’s appearance there and will be catching up on the social media aspect of the conference, recording their experience, and many other things that I’m not quite up to speed with yet. We’re just going to see where it ends up and run with it! Lots to come from GenMed, folks!
Work
Well, I am currently looking to relocate to a different kind of setting. It’s not that I don’t love my job here in Louisiana, but I feel like I am young and want experiences elsewhere. If I had the money, I’d travel the world A La Chronicles of EMS and view different health care systems. But alas, I am but a lowly medic and don’t have a ton of money. But I have saved for a while and am looking to join my west coast friends in the next year or so. I’ll keep you bloggers posted on those developments! It’s a very exciting time in my life and I can’t wait to partake in this next journey!
Personal
Yes, I am going through a lot right now in my personal life. But it’s not all bad things. I’m moving forward in my quest to better myself as a healthcare professional and I’m reevaluating choices I have made thus far in my career. Schooling is an issue right now, and I’m truly searching for where I fit in best in the medical field. I have long dreamed of being an Ob/Gyn, but there are things I am involved with that are taking me on other paths. Currently, I am looking into where this path may lead and keeping an open mind. Also, on a personal level, I have run into a few health issues. My migraines were pretty frequent the last 3 months or so, and we are trying to find the trigger for them. I’ve had these headaches since I was 7 years old, but never this frequent. My recent choice of cutting out almost every shred of meat from my diet has helped and is being brought to the attention of my primary care physician. Will I have to become a vegetarian? I hope not- I sure do love my mom’s rice and gravy! Recently, though, I’ve made a friend who is vegetarian who has helped me in my journey and kept me motivated. I tip my hat to you, friend. Thank you.
So, folks, there is a lot going on in my world at the moment. I hope you choose to stick around and find out where I’m going and laugh along with me as I figure out this thing called life!
